The Mountain West Conference, one of the two premier conferences on the west coast, welcomed Boise State as a full member in 2011. The Broncos have followed that up with the league's best two year record (23-3), captured a share of the 2012 Mountain West Conference title (the team's 11th league title in the past 14 years) and has represented the Mountain West each of the last two seasons against the Pac-12 in the league's top bowl game (Maaco Bowl Las Vegas).

• 7 current members of the Mountain West Conference made bowl appearances in 2012.
• Three members of the current Mountain West ended 2012 ranked in the final Top 25, more than the ACC, Big 10 and Big East, and equal to the Pac-12.
• The Mountain West Conference and it's current members have made 7 overall BCS Bowl Appearances since 2004.
• The Mountain West football footprint continues to grow, with new members Utah State and San Jose State joining the conference in 2013. Both schools are coming off 11-win seasons, bowl victories and a Top 25 national ranking in 2012.
